Description

Oak Tree Lodge is on Ridgedale Trout Farm which is 10km from the village of Underberg, Southern Drakensberg and just 30km from Sani Pass. We have a beautiful waterfall known as "The White Lady" entering into our dam which is stocked with rainbow and brown trout. A large thatched deck area overlooks the waterfall and dam where you can enjoy sundowners.

Our upmarket, double storey bed & breakfast lodge has 6 double bedrooms all with stunning en-suite bathrooms. The rooms either have a Queen bed or Twin beds which can be made up as Singles or Kings. Enjoy the luxury of pure white crisp cotton sheets and fluffy white towels.

Upstairs there is a large room with 4 different seating areas. Downstairs is a TV room which can also host 25 people for a conference. Also downstairs is the central dining area where you can delight yourself with a home cooked country breakfast. Outside on the patio you will relish the tranquility of the countryside.

All the bedrooms and bathrooms have under floor heating. The dining room and conference room also have heated floors.

Attractions

Activities in the Area:
  • Horse Riding trails at Khotso, which is just next door to us. Enjoy riding over hilltops with stunning views and through forests.
  • River Rafting & Tubing is most enjoyed in the summer months and is conveniently done on the stretch of the Umzimkulu River just in front of Oak Tree Lodge.
  • Trips up Sani Pass go up everyday and are led by well informed guides. For this your passport is essential as you will enter into Lesotho to have lunch at the highest pub in Africa at the Sani Top Chalet.
  • Guided Quad Tours. Enjoy a sunset ride with stunning views.
  • We have trout in our own dam on the property and bass in the dam across the road.
  • We can accommodate conferences for up to 25 people.
  • We have 3 lovely Golf courses nearby.
  • There are local pubs, restaurants and tea gardens in the nearby villages of Underberg and Himeville.
  • Hiking trails available at a choice of Nature Reserves in the vicinity.
