DescriptionStonehaven Farm is a family farm set in gerdens and pastures offering a comfortable, 6 sleeper and a basic, 4 sleeper neatly appointed self-catering farm cottages, situated 3km's northwest of Treverton College on the R103 from Mooi River. Charity Cottage - comfortable 6 sleeper - has downstairs bedroom with queen bed - airy upstairs loft with 4 single beds - full family bathroom - TV in lounge (TV1,2,3 &etv only) Crofter's Cottage - basic 4 sleeper - has 2 bedrooms (queen bed & 2 singles) - large shower only Both cottages have undercover verandah with braai & seating facilities - all linen & towels provided - fully serviced daily Stonehaven Farm offers comfortable, family orientated farm accommodation. Located on the Estcourt side of Mooi River on the Midlands Meander, in the foothills of the Drakensberg. Our farm offers year-round opportunities for both active recreation and just 'chilling out' and de-stressing. The choice is yours. The service is ours! Stonehaven Farm offers a luxury farm cottage - Charity Cottage as well as a smaller, basic Crofter's Cottage. The Kwazulu Natal Midlands luxury farm cottage can accommodate up to six guests It features two bedrooms, one full bathroom, a large lounge, kitchenette and covered verandah with braai and seating facilities. The luxury farm cottage is fully equipped with fridge, stove, microwave oven, TV (1,2,3 eTV), duvets and electric blankets. For those cold winter nights, there is also a Jetmaster fireplace. The Crofters Cottage (sleeps 4), although smaller than the luxury cottage, has everything necessary for an enjoyable stay - fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, fireplace and electric blankets on the beds!
  
AttractionsGolf - Mooi River has its own 9-hole course and several picturesque courses are within easy reach of Stonehaven if travelling by car. Tennis courts and bowling greens are also available. Fishing (Fly Fishing and Dam Fishing) - This part of the Midlands, including the foothills of the Drakensberg, is a fly-fisherman's paradise. Well-stocked dams are plentiful and the beautiful fast flowing local streams provide fine catches of both Rainbow and Brown trout during the season (from September to April). Local dams are also stocked with black bass and other varieties of fresh water fish. Hiking & mountain climbing - the Drakensberg Mountains offer many opportunities for the enthusiastic nature lover. Paragliding and Hang Gliding - In addition to the spectacular sites in the Drakensberg range, many other, more easily accessible flying areas are to be found within an hour or two's drive of Stonehaven. hot air balloon flights are available at certain times of the year. Canoeing and River Rafting - Although seasonal, the summer rains transform the lazy local rivers into fast flowing highways of fun! Leisurely flat water canoeing as well as white water thrills are to be enjoyed on the Mooi River as well as the Bushman's River, whilst a rafting trip on the mighty Thukela River is not for the faint hearted. DirectionsExit from N3 toll road at Mooi River Plaza, turn right at T-junction onto R103 towards Mooi River town. Cross the river, through the circle and continue on R103 towards Estcourt. Stonehaven's yellow signboard is 3km along this road, on the left. There is a gravel road for +/- 200m and then concrete strips will take you to the house 400m further on. |
