East Griqualand Museum

The museum of Kokstad is a National Monument. It documents the history of the Griqua people and of the town.
The East Griqualand Museum lies in Main Street 104 and is open during the week from 9 am to 4 pm. Very friendly, dedicated staff. Tel (039) 7976600.

St. Patrick Catholic Cathedral

The Catholic cathedral lies in Hope Street. It was built in 1884. Tel (039) 7272273.

Adam Kok's Monument

The monument of the Griqua leader stands in Hope Street next to the police station. Tel (039) 7479077.

Mount Currie Nature Reserve

This nature protection area lies 5 km north of Kokstad on a dam. In the reserve one can go on hikes and in summer do watersports. Adam Kok's Laager is also situated in the reserve. In 1861, Kok led the 2,000 Griquas together with their cattle to this place to put up camp. Tel (039) 7479077.

The open-plan kitchen has been fully equipped for your convenience. Facilities include a Fridge, Stove, eye-level oven, microwave oven, washing machine, kettle, cutlery and crockery. Groceries can be purchased from one of the many supermarkets within the area.

For your added entertainment, we also offer a Braai/Barbeque area set in our lush, tropical garden area.

Kokstad is conveniently situated on the R56, just 4 km off the N2 freeway, which runs from KwaZulu-Natal through the former Transkei to Cape Town. Ingwe Guest House is situated along the main street which runs through Kokstad (Hope Street). The address is 126 Hope Street.
