DescriptionSunbird Cottage is located in the central drakensberg and a part of the Inkungu Estates. This beautifully designed cottage comprises 3 bedrooms (2 with queen beds, 1 with 2 single beds) each with an en suite bath, shower, toilet and two vanities. All 3 bedrooms have DSTV and open out onto the magnificent mountain view.There is a spacious lounge and patio with charcoal braai area, sharing some fantastic views; and for those cold winter evenings there is a large flat screen TV with DVD and a Jetmaster fireplace! Located off the N3, it is easily accessible by car from Johannesburg or Durban - allow 4-5 hours from Johannesburg and 2-2.5 hours from Durban. Declared a World Heritage site, the Drakensberg is the ideal place to relax and unwind, a haven of peace and tranquillity in a busy world. We would like to introduce you to our special part of the world. Our cottages are situated in the Champagne Castle area of the Drakensberg Mountains with spectacular panoramic views. The 6-sleeper unit, Sunbird, is self-catering, has 3 fully ensuite bedrooms, each with its own DSTV and incredible mountain views. There is a 6-seater Jacuzzi adjacent to the large patio. A secluded courtyard provides a lovely private area. We also have 2 x 2-sleeper self-catering cottages, Hoopoe and Kingfisher, each with its own hot-tub on the patio, outdoor shower and flat screen DSTV. All units have a fireplace and underfloor heating, making winter an ideal getaway time. Our mission is to provide you with exceptional accommodation, privacy and peace in a magnificent location. In addition, we are a child-free zone – no children under 13 years accepted. * Take the N3 (NOTE this is a toll road)
* Pass Mooi River, Estcourt and Shell Ultra City
* Take Exit 194, signposted Bergville/Colenso (R74)
* Turn left and proceed for 20km to Winterton
* Opposite the Engen garage, turn left onto the R600 Central Berg Road
* Proceed for approximately 13km to the cross-roads
* Cross straight over (Thokazisa will be on your left)
* Proceed for approximately 12km
* Pass the entrance to Champagne Sports Resort on your left (The road winds down a hill - at the bottom it continues round to the left and a couple of hundred metres up the hill the golf course fence ends)
* Turn left on to the D19 (Champagne Valley/Champagne Lane/Mt Splendour Caravan Park/Monks Cowl Country Club)
* Follow tar road over low level bridge and to the right of Mt Splendour's entrance, towards T-Junction at the end of the tar road
* Turn left on to concrete strips up hill and follow signs to Reception

* Pass Mooi River on the N3, take Exit 179, signposted Estcourt North/Giants Castle/Loskop/Central Drakenberg
* Turn left along R74 for about 20km (Don't take this road at night since it passes through a rural area)
* Arrive at a cross-roads with Thokazisa on the left-hand side
* Turn left on to the R600, signposted Central Drakensberg
* Proceed for approximately 12km
* Pass the entrance to Champagne Sports Resort on your left (The road winds down a hill - at the bottom it continues round to the left and a couple of hundred metres up the hill the golf course fence ends)
