Nottingham Road Hotel has taken over the management of Gowrie Clubhouse, the new Golf Course in Nottingham Road.The unique charm and attraction of the Nottingham Road Hotel, established in 1854, has answered the needs of many travelers seeking a hotel steeped in history, beauty and reputation. “Notties Hotel” as it is affectionately known to locals is renowned for its festive atmosphere, fine fare and hospitality.Being the oldest pub in Kwa-Zulu Natal established as a staging post between Ladysmith and Pietermaritzburg, “Notties Hotel” is a landmark in the Natal Midlands.Notties, as the hotel has been fondly known by several generations of locals and passers-by who have stopped and found the spirit of the place so welcoming that they have returned time and time again and sent friends and family to try it out, has been part of the little village of Nottingham Road since time immemorial. It wouldn’t be far from the truth the say that the entire village sprang up around the beautiful old Hotel, under the management of Clive and Linda Foss. The Foss’ moved into management in May of 2005 and Notties has come into its own through their care.
