We offer three rooms on a dinner-bed-&-breakfast basis. The rooms are: 1. Generations and Tradisions 2. Wisdom and Folly 3. De Oude Huize Yard is part of a 150 historical house in Harrismith. We offer exceptional accommodation and our restaurant is known for the wonderful meals. We are en-route between Johannesburg - or Thambo airport - and the Drakensberg. We are a member of the Grasslands Meander situated on the N3. The establishment is near to Sterkfontein dam and the Braamhoek pumped-storage scheme. Our rooms are all en-suite. On the premises we offer an antique collectibles shop, library and art gallery. We also have a live-in wrought-iron artist. Fresh cut flowers are grown for the purpose of flattering our guests. Our meals are prepared with home-grown produce. We support the local farmers and houses for fresh produce.

Visitors private entrance from the stoep where seating for bird watching is provided. You will be able to move around freely in this suite with 50m2 space available. En suite bathroom with bath and shower. Cotton bed linen.

I'm going to the mountains for the week-end, in a couple of days I'll be back, so I'll just take my little brown suit and a blouse and a beret and carry my mac. (Just in Case - Charlotte Mitchell). This suite offers 38m2 of space and you will not be cramped in. That's all you will need.

Directions

From O R Tambo Airport. Follow the N3 toward Durban. Once you have reached Harrismith you will enter the town via Warden Street. Turn left into Bosshoff street and again left into Stuart Street. We are the second house from the corner on the left hand side. Entering Harrismith via the N5 you will cross the single traffic bridge and go under the subway continue till you reach Stuart Street. Turn left into Stuart Street. Continue for approximately 1,5km. We are on the left hand side after crossing Bossman Street.
