DescriptionBramleigh Manor is a secluded, owner-run Country Guesthouse/ B&B near the village of Nottingham Road in the Natal Midlands (Kwazulu Natal). It is on a 200 hectare eco-estate and is surrounded by the outskirts of the Drakensberg Mountains at an altitude of 1500m. We are about a 4,5 hours drive from Johannesburg and about 1,5 hours drive from Durban, We are very much off the beaten track, with a very quiet, peaceful and tranquil environment amidst authentic indigenous forest and natural surroundings. Accommodation The thatched manor house has two private, luxury suites with own entrances, kitchenettes, lounge area and patios overlooking the extensive, wonderful garden and the indigenous forest. There are also three thatched en-suite rondavel-style rooms away from the main house with spectacular views. All rooms have a fridge, tea/coffee facility, fireplaces and are fully serviced. A hearty country breakfast is served daily, as well as exclusive, three-course dinners on request. Cottage Suite The Cottage Suite consists of an entrance hall, bedroom, lounge with fireplace, kitchen and full bathroom. Iwule & Umziki Named after the Oribi, an endangered antelope species, which is regularly seen on our estate. (Zulu: Iwule). Insimango Insimango is a freestanding thatch rondavel, with the carport a few steps away. This is a cozy room for two with and en-suite bathroom (shower only). Bramleigh Manor is about relaxation and the enjoyment of being in this peaceful atmosphere surrounded by the most beautiful country side and the outskirts of the Drakensberg mountains. Off the beaten track and nicely tucked away, this is the perfect get away to recharge your batteries. Enjoy the birdlife, the walks through the forest or the grasslands up the hills. Apart from the indigenous wild flowers you might also be able to spot migrating buck,i.e. reedbuck, duiker, and oribi. This is a birders' and nature lovers' paradise and retreat. Bring a good book, enjoy your own fireplace in the evenings, get cozy after having been served a delicious home cooked meal by the hostess of Bramleigh Manor. Make it your stay and you will be back!!

Midlands Meander Route A free brochure provided in your room will guide you to the different arts and crafts of the Midlands. Visit our local artists and enjoy traveling through the country side. Sani Pass This is a good daytrip from Bramleigh Manor but you need a 4x4 to be able to get up Sani Pass. Just the 70 km from Bramleigh to Himeville/ Underberg prove to be a very scenic drive mainly dirt road though. Remember to bring your passports as you will be crossing into Lesotho. There is always the option of booking a tour which will take tourists up Sani Pass in their Land Rovers. Quad bikes/ off-road bikes can also be booked in Himeville to take you up Sani Pass. Loteni game reserve, Kamberg game reserve Bushman's paintings can be found in the Kamberg game reserve and both reserves are a lovely outing for the day.
DirectionsFrom the N3 highway, take the Nottingham Road off ramp. Turn right at the top towards Nottingham Road. Pass The Junction on your left and turn right under the railway bridge. Drive through the village. Turn left at the Police Station towards Sani Pass, Himeville. Drive on this tar road for 17km. Turn left on the D544 (dirt road). Bramleigh Manor ist situated 4km further on the left. |
